Six days later, Ducharme’s death was declared a homicide following an autopsy by a pathologist. The charge alleges Quenneville-Proulx killed the victim two days before Ducharme’s body was discovered. At the time of her arrest, Quennville-Proulx was on probation as part of a sentence she received last year at a courthouse in Sherbrooke. On Feb. 4, 2021, she pleaded guilty to uttering threats and was sentenced to two years of probation.

In 2012, Quenneville-Proulx was acquitted on four counts of assault and one of uttering threats in a case at the Montreal courthouse. She was acquitted in the case after she agreed to follow a series of conditions set out in a peace bond.
