Queensland Police are searching for a motorbike rider, after a woman was struck while crossing the road at set of traffic lights in Brisbane's south-west.
Initial reports indicate a 32-year-old woman was crossing at a set of traffic lights at Leichhardt, Ipswich, when she was struck by an off-road motorcycle.
The rider, who was knocked off the bike during the crash, allegedly drove away from the scene along Toongarra Road towards the city without stopping to help the woman. On Thursday afternoon, police issued a public appeal, along with vision of the motorbike on the night of the incident. "The bike, an orange-white off-road motorcycle, was driving erratically and sped through a red light on Toongarra Road prior to the collision," police said in a statement.
