Woman, 28, gets jail for scalding husband with boiling water after he said he wanted to divorce her
The 28-year-old woman, Rahimah Nisva, was sentenced to eight months' jail after she pleaded guilty on Tuesday to causing hurt by means of a heated substance to her husband Muhammad Rahimi Shamir Ahmad Safuan.
The possibility of a divorce was eventually brought up by Mr Rahimi during a meeting with his wife and mother-in-law in Batam on March 19 this year. The couple live separately — she in Batam and he in Singapore. Once they arrived here, Rahimah informed Ms Yeni that she needed to meet her husband to get some documents.Leaving Ms Yeni to wait for her, Rahimah headed to Mr Rahimi's home and scouted the area because she intended to familiarise herself with the area where he lived.
