Sudbury’s comeback falls short as the Wolves lose to the London Knights, 5-4

The Sudbury Community Arena was packed with boisterous Wolves fans on Friday night, with 4055 faithful hoping to cheer their team on to victory. The London Knights edged the Wolves with a 5 to 4 win.

The London Knights scored at 5:04 of the first period, giving themselves a 1-0 lead with a goal from Easton Cowan, his 16th of the season. Sudbury native Max McCue made the score 2-0 for London with his 12th goal of the season at 12:20 of the opening frame. The Wolves got things rolling early in the second period with Marc Boudreau’s 13th of the season at 1:13 of the second period to make the score 3-1 for London.

Less than five minutes into the third period Ruslan Gazizov scored his 22nd goal of the season, and second of the game, to give the Knights a 4-3 lead. With less than 5 minutes to play, Kocha Delic scored his second of the game at 15:24 of the third period, tying the game once again at 4 goals apiece.
