Tight game ends in narrow victory Battalion
The defensive skills of both Sudbury and North Bay were in high gear as the Battalion came to town for a match against the Wolves on Jan. 11.
North Bay scored first and shorthanded at around the 11-minute mark, when Justin Ertel scored his 13th of the season to put the Battalion up 1-0. No other goals would be scored over the next two periods, nor over the five-minute OT period, so the game went to a shootout. After Mania took his turn for Sudbury and was stymied, Battalion forward Kevin ‘Big Mac’ McDonald would score the game winner.
