Difahamkan, Senior Asisten Komisioner Zulkiflli Abd Aziz, 64, merupakan penggerak utama dalam menyalurkan maklumat mengenai aktiviti penyelinapan pengganas Sulu kepada Polis Diraja Malaysia dan kini beliau dirawat di Hospital Teluk Intan di sini.Ketua Polis Perak, Datuk Seri Mohd.

Menurutnya, Zulkiflli memulakan perkhidmatan di Bahagian Cawangan Khas sehingga jawatan terakhirnya sebagai Ketua Staf Perisikan ESSCOM sebelum bersara wajib empat tahun lalu. Beliau berkata, sepanjang tempoh dalam Cawangan Khas, Zulkiflli banyak membantu dalam Op Daulat semasa kemasukan pengganas Sulu di Lahad Datu.

“Beliau menyalurkan maklumat-maklunat risikan bagi kegunaan pasukan gempur, ini termasuk maklumat serangan dan pengesanan ahli-ahli pengganas Sulu yang menyelinap masuk ke Sabah. “Beliau adalah penggerak utama, beliau adalah ‘unsung hero’ yang membantu pihak PDRM untuk mengesan dan menangkap pengganas Sulu sehingga ada yang sudah ditangkap dan dijatuhkan hukuman,” katanya.Turut hadir Ketua Cawangan Khas Perak, Datuk Shazeli Kahar dan Ketua Polis Daerah Hilir Perak, Asisten Komisioner Ahmad Adnan Basri. – UTUSAN
