“Through my observation and all of my staff that were working on the sites of Winterlude, we [saw] tens of thousands of people that participated in the 45th edition of Winterlude in 2023,” said Melanie Brault, the Director of Capital Celebrations at Canadian Heritage, which organizes the yearly event.Article content
“For instance, we decided to incorporate more urban locations, so the ByWard Market and Sparks Street became part of the offer to folks coming to Winterlude. “Contingency plans are part of our planning every year. We’re constantly monitoring the weather and we always have different plans that we are able to sort of shift our focus to depending on the weather that is coming in the short term,” Brault said, “Changing weather is always something we’ve always planned for and always continue to do.”
