Environment Canada issued a special weather statement this morning at 4:49 a.m., calling for strong and gusty winds up to 60 km/h through Prince George and the Lakes district and the Willison, Bulkley Valley, Stuart-Nechako and McGregor regions.
A strong cold front sweeping through northern B.C. could bring winds strong enough to toss loose objects and cause weak tree branches to breaks, which may cause injuries, damage and power outages.
Ahead of the cold front, moderate southwest winds with possible gusts up to 50 km/h are expected early this morning. As the cold front passes, winds will shift to west or northwest late this morning and will be accompanied with stronger wind gusts up to 60 km/h.
