“I can’t call them and say get your asses in there and kicking ass. It’s up to the OPP,” Ford is noted as saying. He later promised to be up police’s “ass with a wire brush.” The readout also shows Ford stating that the blockade at the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor, Ont., was his priority, calling it “the bigger one for us and the country.”
Earley was asked about a call she had with two OPP deputy commissioners, Chris Harkins and Rose DiMarco, on the morning of Feb. 10. Earley said that her superiors wanted to make sure she had a head start in putting a team in place and indicated they would provide any resources she needed.
