Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Greater Victoria and fog advisory for east Vancouver Island.
Conditions are expected to improve later in the morning.
For Greater Victoria, the wind warning is in effect starting Wednesday night with east and southeast winds of 70 km/h gusting to 90.Sign up for our newsletter to get breaking news and daily digests sent to your email.“An approaching frontal system will stall west of Vancouver Island today,” Environment Canada said in a notice on its website. “Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches.
