Whyalla is set to become South Australia's hydrogen hub and its council is urging locals to complete a survey about the town's personality to make sure it's inviting enough for an influx of new residents.

In response to the development, the Whyalla City Council has launched a research project in collaboration with the University of South Australia to prepare the town. Ms Jarrett said an inviting community personality would welcome further investment in the future for the town. "Without the views and ideas of the residents of Whyalla coming through, leaders of the community will not know where to focus and how to focus their efforts to best support the community growing into the future," Ms Jarrett said.Regional landscapes are set to dramatically change across the country in coming years as many transition to net zero emissions with wind, solar, and hydrogen alternatives to be constructed, according to the Regional Australia Institute.
