KOTA KINABALU: The Education Ministry's decision not to offer ethnic language specialisation for teaching candidates at the Institute of Teacher Education 2023 session is disappointing, says Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau.
The Tuaran MP said there was no teacher candidate intake listed for the specialisation of Ethnic Languages – Kadazandusun, Iban and Semai – in the areas of specialisation advertised for teacher recruitment under the ministry for the 2023 Bachelor of Teaching degree programme.
“We are talking about unity and we are talking about celebrating diversity, but in the end there is absolutely no recruitment listed for Kadazandusun, Iban and Semai language at the teacher education institute," he said in a statement on Wednesday .Madius said the ministry should explain its decision.
