“What I’ve seen is in the past people would buy a couple of tickets, and now I am seeing ticket buyers buy six or seven tickets. So they are coming to a lot of events,” said Wood Barrett, who added that on average, in the pre-pandemic past, 1,500 people attended over the weekend. “It’s just nice to know people are going to return.”
Authors Cody Caetano, Heather O’Neill, Jamal Saeed and Lisa Moore will be joined by moderator Wayne Grady for the new event that perfectly represents this year’s festival theme of “sharing stories together.” “Writing a book is solitary. The actual putting the words to page, but it is also about being connected to various different kinds of communities and festivals are one kind of community.”
