There’s no best server in FFXIV, but you may prefer some choices over others
Before you can begin your adventure in Final Fantasy XIV, you’ll need to create your own player character and decide which server you’re going to play on . For those totally new to MMORPGs, your server dictates who you’ll interact with when you play the game. Two pals playing the game on the same server can run into each other on the overworld, while players on separate servers will run into each other less frequently.
It’s that easy! If you want to visit another data center, you’ll have to log out and return to the main menu. Select the “START” option to open the character select menu, highlight your character, and either Right Click or press the Square/X button. From the menu that pops up, select “Visit Another Data Center,” and then select where you want to go. Keep in mind that you don’t have total server travel freedom here. Data center travel is limited to your region .
