Last of three to be dealt with, Eric Vern West to serve a further two years two months and 18 days.

A man who was behind the steering wheel during an attempt to escape police following a bout of drive-by gunplay was sentenced Thursday to a further two years two months and 18 days in prison.

In issuing the term, B.C. Supreme Court Justice Ron Tindale found that the fact West did not fire a shot to be only a "minor" mitigating factor. By the time the trio had reached Fifth and Ospika, an RCMP member had spotted their car. West initially continued east on Fifth at a normal rate of speed but the three appeared nervous as they looked back at the officer's cruiser.

Ouelette was eventually tackled and arrested, Munroe was found hiding in some nearby bushes and West was found underneath the deck of a nearby home.
