"Much of Australia is looking at the perfect Christmas day," Dean Narramore from the Bureau of Meteorology said.Christmas Day temperatures around the country.Narramore said there would be "widespread rain and thunderstorms" this week through central Australia particularly."Watch out for heatwave conditions developing in the Christmas to the new year," he said.
Stinking hot temperatures might not hit the south east of Australia but the west and top end will see traditional Christmas temperatures.In the days before Christmas, temperatures will be slightly lower but will rise for Christmas Day, however there is a chance of rain on the day.The temperature is set to hit 31C, a warm high for the capital.The forecast for Melbourne has been updated, with the initial fears of cool temperatures and rain easing.
