Looking for weekend plans? From Summerlicious to Taste of the Middle East Summer Festival, Toronto has a lot going on this weekend.
Celebrating some of India’s spiritual traditions, the Ratha-Yatra chariot procession will parade downtown on July 15 for the opening of the“It is important to stay connected to our roots,” said Preya Maulkhan, Festival of India coordinator. “We are in a very diverse city, and we should always remember how we were brought up and showcase our culture with pride.”
“You’re speaking to the Lord, asking them to please engage with you in their energy and just showing your love,” Maulkhan said. “The mantra itself has a lot of love behind it.” which kicks off on Saturday and runs through July 30. Also at the festival, which is included with park admission, will be the Funline Drumline band performing at the Frontier Stage.Taste of the Middle East brings emerging artists, traditional cuisine and dance to Nathan Phillips Square from Friday to Saturday.
