As Canada remembers the painful legacy of the residential school system, here are three events in Toronto to mark the day.

Friday marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to recognize the tragic history of Canada’s Indian residential school system and to honour the children who did not return home, the survivors, their families and communities.Indigenous Fashion Showcase

Indigenous cuisine available to order on site will include bison burgers, sole fritters, frybread wojapi, and the three sisters wild rice salad. There is also an Indian Residential School survivor area and wellness circle, not open to the public, with activities, food and counselling available.
