Em McLellan: “I have lived in the ward for over 20 years. I am not a well-groomed politician, nor do I want to be. We tend to send people down to city hall and they do absolutely nothing for the ward. I refused to take any donations from anyone because when this happens the people of the ward are left out and the special interest groups’ concerns come first.”Article content
Salah Elsaadi: “The past term of council has been divisive. We don’t need a career politician or someone who doesn’t understand how government functions. As a community builder, business owner and past chair of a local business improvement area, I have worked with all three levels of government to deliver results. I have lived in this community for nearly two decades and my wife and I are raising our children here.
Steve Desroches: “The ward is growing at a very rapid pace. As such, the City of Ottawa’s services and infrastructure need to keep up with the pace of residential development in Riverside South and Findlay Creek. The city needs to help build complete, balanced and livable neighbourhoods where residents can work, live and play.
Zainab Alsalihiy: “There are no schools, recreational facilities or stores — especially in Riverside South — to deal with the influx of residents. It directly affects the community who are struggling with the simplest requests to be provided. We have to meet people where they are, and our decisions need to reflect the unique needs of our residents.”Em McLellan: “Affordable housing. We have to make Ottawa affordable for all the citizens.
