There are a bunch of unanswered questions. We’re told Norris, who missed nearly all of last season with a shoulder injury, aches to play hockey again. But the Senators’ media relations folks say he’d prefer not to talk about the uncertainty until he’s closer to returning, maybe back in the lineup.One common word that pops up: Frustration. For the player. For his teammates. For his coaches. For the hockey operations people. For the fan base. Everybody wants Norris to play.
“I wait every day on word from the trainers if he’s able to go,” said Senators head coach D.J. Smith. “He’s practising full speed and looks good out there. But he’s day to day at this point. I’d say I’m more optimistic than a day ago. But it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster when it comes to this. Brady Tkachuk and Norris have been good friends for nearly 10 years. The Senators captain says the team is pulling for the hard-working Norris to return as soon as possible.
