There are seven races left in the 2023 season and this weekend's Japanese Grand Prix is Red Bull's first opportunity to secure the constructors' championship.
Red Bull can win their second successive constructors' championship if they score one point more than Mercedes, and are not outscored by Ferrari by 24 points or more.
The team of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez have combined for 597 points so far this season, with Mercedes and Ferrari on 289 and 265 respectively. Verstappen currently has a commanding lead over Perez in the drivers' championship, but mathematically cannot wrap up the title this weekend.Verstappen — who currently holds a 151-point lead over Perez — will need to end the race in Qatar with an advantage of 146 points.
This means Perez must score six more points than Verstappen over the next two races to still have a mathematical chance of winning the title.Formula 1
