WHALEY bridge dam “remains in the balance” as the RAF have been drafted in to help repair the damaged reservoir which threatens to flood a nearby town.
Toddbrook reservoir, which contains 1.3 million gallons of water, sits above hundreds of homes and businesses in Whaley Bridge. Almost all of the towns 6,500 residents have been evacuated, after heavy downpours caused what police called an “unprecedented, fast-moving, emergency situation”.
