Western Sydney's 'only Liberal left standing' has become the first person to make a run for deputy leader of the NSW Liberal Party, while former leader Dominic Perrottet’s role has yet to attract a contender.
Member for Badgerys Creek Tanya Davies has announced she is making a run for the role after a “challenging night for the NSW Liberal Party” in last week’s state election.

"It is very clear we need a fresh start… we need a fresh start for the Liberal party," Mr Perrottet said in his resignation speech. Mr Kean also revealed he has witnessed how demanding the role was, after serving as deputy leader alongside Mr Perrottet and junior minister during former premier Gladys Berejiklian's time as leader.
