The mesmerising six-kilometre procession had dozens of floats passing through, namely, at Jalan Gajah Berang, Jalan Tun Perak, Jalan Tun Ali, Jalan Tun Mutahir, Lorong Hang Jebat and Jalan Tengkera.Earlier, Melaka Buddhist Association Wesak Day Celebration Committee chairman Cedric Tan said more than 10,000 devotees and visitors congregated at the Seck Kia Eenh Temple in Kampung Chetti, Jalan Gajah Berang.
He said this year's celebration will be the first held after a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Tan said a total of 2,400 participants from 15 Buddhist associations in Melaka were involved in the event. Among other activities, he said, that were held in conjunction with the event were a prayer ceremony, candlelight performance at the temple grounds and distribution of flowers.
