A new bird has been showing up in parts of our region in recent years. Cattle egrets were originally native to parts of Asia, Africa and Europe but have rapidly expanded into other parts of the world in the last few years, including North America. Just why these birds are expanding their range is still somewhat unclear, but cattle egrets are migratory birds, and experts think our changing climate may be making it a more desirable location.
