Wallabies great Michael Hooper has revealed what he needs to do over the coming weeks if he’s to book his ticket to Paris 2024.
Former Wallabies captain Michael Hooper admits he is facing an uphill battle to be fit for the 2024 Olympics and is at peace with the possibility of not going to Paris with Australia’s men’s sevens team.
“I’ve run the last three days. Truth be told, I need to lift the intensity. I’m not knocking it out of the park when it comes to how it’s going on the field,” Hooper said at Stan Sport’s Olympic launch on Wednesday at the Sydney Opera House. “I need to bridge a bit of a gap in order to make this team. The team is pretty settled and going well.
If Hooper doesn’t head to Paris, Stan Sport will use the Wallabies centurion in their Olympics coverage. Hooper began his media career with Stan Sport last year during the Rugby World Cup and said he has warmed to being on the other side of the fence.
