Women trying to put their hands up to say no to the “encroachment into women’s rights” are being “so badly condemned” by transgender protesters and mainstream media, says former Liberal candidate Katherine Deves.

Ms Deves said the behaviour towards anti-transgender rights activist Kellie-Jay Keen was akin to a “witch-hunt” after she was attacked by protesters during her Let Women Speak campaign in Auckland.

“Women have the right to sex-based rights, we have the right to say no to men in spaces where women and children are vulnerable – so Australians really need to wake up to this,” Ms Deves told Sky News Australia.
