A crocodile has been euthanised by wildlife authorities after attacking a man and killing his dog when they attempted to go swimming in a river in Far North Queensland.
at Ayton, about four hours north of Cairns, on Wednesday at about 5.30pm.
"Overnight, wildlife officers from Cairns conducted a spotlighting survey of the river and located the crocodile about 200 metres from where the attack occurred," a statement read.A crocodile has been removed from the wild in Far North Queensland after attacking a man and his dog. Speaking at a media conference on Friday, Regional Manager of Northern Wildlife Operations Michael Joyce said the animal was euthanised on Thursday about 8.30pm.
