'In the near future, the Klang River will be a maritime attraction, like a waterfront,' said mayor Dr Nor Fuad Abdul Hamid.
"In addition to a beautiful river, we could have water taxis plying the waterway. This feature would be ideal for cruise ship passengers stopping overnight at the Boustead Cruise Centre in Port Klang."Hopefully, these water taxis will not be bothered by crocodiles then," joked Nor Fuad.An estimated 70 plots of land will be due for rezoning, density recalculation and land reclassification for the project.
"Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of MBI Selangor and the project's master developer, has already started dredging there since last November. River deepening is also expected to help prevent water from overflowing into the area.
