Several communities on Vancouver Island have started water restrictions as warmer temperatures and sunny weather arrive.
in Nanaimo"This is about kind of looking forward towards a warm, dry summer season," said Erica Forssman, Nanaimo drinking water and protection program coordinator.
"Really getting everybody in a good habit about water conservation early in the summer so that we're not met with bigger issues later in the season," said Forssman."March set a record for the lowest water flows we've seen at a number of our island facilities in over 60 years of information," said BC Hydro spokesperson Stephen Watson.
