News Corp Australasia Executive Chair Michael Miller will use his National Press Club speech on Wednesday to address social media platforms in a bid to get them to comply with Australian rules.

In his speech, Miller will address how he hopes social media platforms can be reined in, with the rising threat of online harms such as cyberbullying and spreading of violent content. "I am really concerned the impact the social media platforms are having on Australians, Australians' health and also the success of other businesses that play by Australian rules, and that the tech platforms don't play by Australian rules. They don't adhere to our laws, they don't sign up to our social values."
