Lemon’s comments garnered criticism across the media landscape, with reports that even female staff members at CNN threatened to quit should he not be fired.Ahead of Lemon’s return, CNN CEO Chris Licht announced the morning show host will undergo training.
Kelly suggested her own plan for Lemon before listing off several tips on “how not to be a misogynist” based on previous comments for which the CNN host has been slammed. Kelly also said, “Rape victims don't need your lecture on how to respond to their rape,” referencing a 2014 conversation Lemon had with one of Bill Cosby’s accusers.
Among other points, Kelly also suggested that “screaming at your female co-anchor because she interrupted you to the point where she runs away is considered rude and unprofessional” — a note connected to sour interactions between Lemon and fellow co-anchor Kaitlan Collins.
