Sebagai tanda kasih dan sokongan mereka terhadap para paderi, umat Katolik di Keuskupan Sibu datang beramai-ramai ke Katedral Sacred Heart, untuk menghadiri Misa Krisma atau lebih dikenali di Sibu sebagai Misa untuk Hari Paderi pada Mac 29 lalu.Katanya, melalui pembaptisan, umat turut diberi tugas imamat Kristus.
Oleh itu, Misa Krisma bukan sahaja untuk para paderi, tetapi sebagai peringatan akan umat untuk mewartakan Khabar Gembira. Prelatus itu juga menambah, para paderi juga mempunyai kekurangan dan kelemahan. Beliau berharap para umat sentiasa dapat menyokong klerus melalui doa dan kritikan membina. “Semoga para paderi dan umat, saling memaafkan dan menghormati, apabila ada kekurangan, apabila ada harapan yang tidak dapat dipenuhi atau salah faham. Marilah kita saling mendoakan dan menjemput Roh Kudus sebagai Penolong kita dalam membina Gereja,” kata Uskup Joseph Hii.
