Certainly no matter where you stand ideologically, many violent crimes could have been prevented if the courts had not granted bail to an offender. It was that way in the slaying of OPP Const. Greg Pierzchala, Toronto Police Const. Andrew Hong, Quebec Provincial Police Sgt. Maureen Breau and RCMP Const. Shaelyn Yang. They are four of the 10 police officers killed in Canada in recent times.
