Vladimir Putin launched a barrage of missiles into Ukraine, as he defended his “difficult” and “necessary” invasion in a New Year’s Eve address to Russia.
The nine-minute video broadcasted on Russian television came as Moscow launched more than 20 cruise missiles at numerous targets in Kyiv, with at least one casualty recorded and multiple injuries.
