Seven of the world's 'advanced' economies have released a joint statement to condemn the actions from Russian President Vladimir Putin and declared the group will continue to send humanitarian and military support to Ukraine 'for as long as it takes'
G7 leaders from the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Canada, and Japan met virtually on Tuesday with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The group released a joint statement hours after the meeting to condemn the missile attacks"in the strongest terms" and flagged the"indiscriminate attacks on innocent civilian populations constitute a war crime". The G7 also stressed it was prepared to support Ukraine for"as long as it takes", with Europe heading to winter and concerns about gas supply.
