Langley school’s trio of Tavia Rowell, Rolande Taylor and Jessica Wisotzki have been on the same side for basketball season six years running.
Tavia Rowell, Rolande Taylor and Jessica Wisotzki played their first games together for coach Allison McNeill, and all these years later their last game as teammates could come against a squad coached by her.It’s a funny time of year.Rowell, Taylor and Wisotzki are Grade 12s with the Walnut Grove Gators, the No. 2 seeds at the Triple A girls basketball provincial championships, which get going at the Langley Events Centre on Wednesday.
Rowell, a point guard, is heading to Phoenix to join the Grand Canyon Antelopes, while forwards Taylor and Wisotzki will stick closer to home after signing on with the Trinity Western Spartans and SFU Clan, respectively.“They’ll be a lot of keeping track of each other’s teams. We’ll be FaceTiming a lot. We’ll stay in touch,” Rowell explained. “We’re all on different teams. It’s going to be so different.
