Authorities in South Australia have issued an emergency evacuation warning for the River Murray town of Walker Flat.
Residents of the town have been urged to evacuateThe State Emergency Service has said in the coming hours properties could be inundated or cut off, as water floods Angas Valley Road and Rob Loxton Road, making them completely impassable."Flooding is expected to cause isolation to your property within 24 hours due to deterioration and flooding of the Angas Valley Road, Walker Flat," the SES said in its warning.
"Regardless of your property's ability to withstand flood impacts, there is a chance you may also become flooded.Affected residents are being door-knocked this evening.People who need accommodation can go to the emergency relief centre at the Mannum Football Club.The town consists mostly of holiday homes along the river.Similar emergency warnings were issued for the
