A case involving a man who was being followed by VPD officers when he was injured falling from his bicycle has been forwarded to the B.C. Prosecution Service.
According to the Independent Investigations Office of B.C., officers in an unmarked vehicle followed a man riding his bike along Hamilton Street around 2 a.m. on Sept. 12, 2018. “During the interaction, the male suffered serious injuries when he fell from his bike,” the IIO said in a news release. The civilian oversight agency, which investigates all officer-related incidents that result in serious harm or death, has completed its review of the case and has filed a report to the Crown for their consideration of charges.
Few other details regarding the incident have been released, and the IIO will not be making any additional comment about a matter that is currently with the Crown.Is there more to this story?
