Labor leads the Coalition in key areas of voter concern and is level pegging with the Liberals as an economic manager.
Federal Labor has pulled strong leads over the Coalition in almost all key areas of voter concern, and is level pegging with the Liberals on their signature strength asThe poll by Freshwater Strategy finds that on the issue of the greatest concern to voters, the cost and standard of living, Labor is the preferred manager by 41 per cent to 27 per cent.
On housing and accommodation, Labor stomps the Coalition as preferred manager by 43 per cent to 23 per cent, and by 47 per cent to 24 per cent on health and social care.Within the housing and accommodation category, the lack of housing and availability and rising rents were the chief concerns. But, again, it is no contest when it comes to the fifth-highest priority in the minds of voters – the environment and climate change. Labor leads he Coalition by 42 per cent to 20 per cent.
But it is losing to Labor on what was once another unassailable strength, “immigration and asylum”, with Labor in front by 33 per cent to 29 per cent.
