Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says one part of the Voice to Parliament referendum is to “just recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in our constitution” due to the fact they have not yet been afforded recognition.
“Where matters directly impact Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, then the Voice would be consulted,” Mr Albanese told Woodford Folk Festival.
“If there was a policy of support for Medicare, that’s for everyone, then that’s not about the Voice.
