The Jays first baseman walked slowly from the dugout to the team clubhouse in right field at TD Ballpark and was accompanied by trainer Jose Minstral.
The 24-year-old remained in the game for the following two outs before retreating to the dugout and eventually to the clubhouse to receive medical attention.
If the injury doesn’t worsen Guerrero, he still could participate in the World Baseball Classic. He’s scheduled to leave the Jays camp on Sunday for Miami where the Dominican Republic is preparing for its pool action. “You want to get through healthy we think he’ll be all right,” Schneider said. “We’ll see how he is tomorrow but not too worried.”Article content
