Malaysian netizens criticised this hijabi fan for hugging a Thai actor during a photo-op.
After a quick check, it seems that the fan had won the photo-op slot after participating in a contest held by the event organiser and is one of 30 winners. Fans who won the photo-op had the freedom to pose in any way with the actors, with many opting to hug or hold hands with the two for the photo.
Unsurprisingly, the video caused a stir amongst Malaysians who thought the fan’s action was inappropriate for a Muslim. One commenter even mockingly said the fan should’ve taken her hijab off before posing. A few others also advised the young fan to be more careful in the future to not cross boundaries. even as a fan. However, some defended the hijabi, saying that whatever she does is nobody’s business.
