The death of a 17-year-old football player on Saturday after an incident mid-match has rocked a regional Victoria community.
Police were called after a teenager collapsed at the Mollison Street football field mid-match, in Kyneton central Victoria, around 12:20pm.
“The exact circumstances surrounding the death are yet to be determined but the matter is not being treated as suspicious,” a spokesperson said. The football club instead opened its doors to the community and provided “a safe space to be together at this difficult time”.
