he defeated this month with a new shadow cabinet position, that will focus on reforming the state’s criminal justice system, which potentially signals a shift away from the Coalition’s tough-on-crime policies that were blamed for its 2018 election loss.
Wilson, who fended off a threat from a teal independent to win the seat of Kew, has been rewarded with portfolios of finance, economic reform and homeownership, and believes tackling housing affordability will “resonate” with her generation. Pesutto said the elevation of MPs elected since 2018 to the frontbench represented renewal. “That’s something I am very excited about,” he said.
Former Liberal leader Michael O’Brien will serve as shadow attorney-general and former shadow treasurer David Davis will serve as the opposition’s spokesman for arts and creative industries.
