Police called to Pandora Avenue and Chambers Street

A man suspected of exposing himself to a woman walking near downtown Victoria Sunday afternoon may have victimized others, police say.

Police were called to Pandora Avenue and Chambers Street around 3 p.m. and learned that a man had approached a woman at the intersection, spoke to her and then exposed himself. When she tried to leave the area, the man followed her for about four blocks before she turned off the street and “to a place of safety.”

Police said they located the suspect in a nearby community park and arrested him without incident. No one was physically injured. Police said they learned that the man was violating conditions from a previous sexual offence conviction. He was taken to Victoria police cells, but officers are worried that there may be other victims.

They are asking for victims who have not yet come forward to do so, as well as any witnesses from the Sunday incident. Anyone who had a similar encounter, or has information about this incident, is asked to call the VicPD Report Desk at 250-995-7654 ext. 1.
