Armed Forces chief of staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. announced that members of the Vice Presidential Security and Protection Group (VPSPG) will be temporarily replaced with new military and police personnel due to a subpoena issued by the Philippine National Police against several members of Vice President Sara Duterte 's security detail . Duterte rejected the replacements, stating she would not accept any new personnel for her security detail .

Duterte also expressed concerns about the heightened security measures, which she believes could trigger chaos if she were harmed. Meanwhile, around 65 Davao police officers were reassigned to various regions in Luzon
