Rain-slicked pavement might have been a factor in a fiery single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on the Patricia Bay Highway, just north of Sayward Road.
The southbound vehicle veered off the highway about 7 a.m. and rolled, said Saanich police, coming to a stop against a utility pole before catching fire.
The driver and lone occupant was sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.Traffic has been delayed because the vehicle can’t be moved until the utility pole is assessed.
