“But in terms of how much capacity we build out, where the transmission lines are located between us and neighbouring jurisdictions,” that work remains to be done, he acknowledged. “It will also identify and advance Indigenous ownership opportunities and future electricity generation and transmission infrastructure investments.”
“The current timelines that are often given to proponents is eight to nine years from initiation to connections. Obviously, that is not consistent with where we need to be to build a clean energy future.” The premier says it entails working closely with B.C. Hydro and its regulatory overseer, the B.C. Utilities Commission.
