Kota Kinabalu: The Consumer Claims Tribunal ordered a used car dealer to refund a deposit of RM1,000 to a customer who bought a secondhand car from the company after a bank loan was not approved.
Tribunal President, Salmi Zalina Abdul Rahim, ordered the used car dealer company to pay the amount to a 40-year-old man within 14 days. When the claimant cancelled the purchase and tried to get his deposit back, the respondent refused, stating he had lost two customers wanting to buy the same vehicle.In another case, Salmi ordered a safety door company to refund RM8,888 to a 61-year-old woman who bought two safety doors after the items were not functioning properly.
